Camp Statement on House Passage of Another “Fix” to Democrat Health Care Bill

Ways and Means Ranking Member Dave Camp (R-MI) issued the following statement last night upon House passage of a second health care reconciliation bill:

“The Democrats health care bill is so flawed that it hasn’t been law for three days and yet this is the third time we have voted to ‘fix’ it. These minor tweaks do nothing to change the fact that this bill spends over $1 trillion, cuts Medicare by over one-half trillion dollars and raises taxes by over one-half trillion dollars.

“The Democrats’ health care bill is the largest expansion of the federal government and the largest tax increase in our nation’s history. It is a bill our families and our economy cannot afford. In fact, before the ink was even dry on this legislation, two mid-west manufacturers – John Deere and Caterpillar – announced that the Democrats’ health care was already costing them $150 million and $100 million, respectively. Those costs to employers and families are only going to grow in the coming days, weeks and years unless we repeal this bill and replace it with reforms that will lower costs.”

Background: Camp authored the House Republican health care bill, the only bill the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office scored as reducing health care premiums across the board and reducing the deficit. Camp’s bill contained no tax increases or Medicare cuts.

Doesn't it make you just want to bang your head against a wall???? We're out of jobs, our dollar is worth less, people are working harder and making less, the so-called rich are hiding their money and moving to places where they can shelter their funds and Hoyer thinks raising taxes is a realistic option.

There's no blood in this turnip.

History has proven that the more you take from people, the less incentive they have to do more than the minimum to survive. They quit.

Of course, I guess for Washington elite, those who will be making the rules and living high off our dollars, what happens to the masses isn't important. Let us eat bread hmmmm????

Heard about this one yesterday on Glenn Beck radio I think... These guys try to be so sneaky, they are SO underhanded, cocky and willing to kill America for their own power and misguided agendas.

I am very pleased with how many, most, of the Republicans are handling things in D.C. right now in regards to the crud being spewed from Obama and crew. If they'd been acting like this over the past ten years, then we might not have an Obama and Dem Congress right now. I don't know that it'll stick when the balance shifts again. Power does strange things to people, especially those in D.C.

"Jon Corzine and Creigh Deeds trumpeted a common theme and touted a common goal: a far left social agenda and a goal to advance big government liberalism. Clearly, voters were fed up with that kind of 'change' and chose candidates whose traditional values and economic conservatism make simple good sense.

"Governor Corzine said his race was also a referendum on same-sex 'marriage,' and even chose as his running mate the author of New Jersey's same-sex 'marriage' legislation. But he was unable to overcome the strong support for man-woman marriage within his traditional base of support. Our friends at the New Jersey Family Policy Council pointed to several recent polls* that link the governor's support for same-sex 'marriage' to his underperformance among minority voters.

The Public Option Comeback

Watching the healthcare debate has confirmed my beliefs on Obama and the long-range, actually now the short-range, plans of he and his co-horts.

People who think Obama is a pastsy, that he is fumbling along, being led, or that he doesn't have a plan are so, so wrong. Obama and crew are nudging that, nipping at this, tipping the edge of that, moving us drip by drab to another form of government. Whether you want to call it socialism or some hybrid version they've concocted, it's coming. They are working their plan and it's working. They understand there will be temporary setbacks, sometimes the unexpected, but they see their version of light on the horizon and nothing seems to be able to stop them.

I think the Tea Party movement (go friends!!!), Glenn Beck, Fox News, other movements across the states are causing them some consternation. However, if we don't pull all these individual pieces together, we won't be strong enough to combat those who now control the purse strings, and the strings that loosely keep our country on the side of freedom.

Those who think we'll turn it around in 2010 may, unfortunately, be sadly mistaken. By the time the next election rolls around our short-sited fellow voters will be back in love with Obama and his team AND/OR they'll have pushed and cajoled and forced enough voters over to the dependent on the government side of voting that those of us who work for a living, those of us who believe in earning our worth, those willing to take a stand, will be in the minority.

And what happens if we do get enough Republicans or strong Independents into the ranks of Congress to slow Obama down? By the time 2012 rolls around the press will have painted those fighting for our country as "obstructionists". Those strong Republicans and Independents and very strong Democrats who vote with them will become the enemy, the wrong-thinkers, the foil, the excuse for Obama's inability to cram his version of "change" down our throats.

The only hope we have is to come out in force in 2010 and sweep the board. It's doubtful as everyone seems to think their guy is OK, it's the rest of them that need to go... which means not enough go.

We have to fight to wake up even more people in the country. We have to strive to get everyone who values freedom to register to vote if they haven't, to vote if they have. We need to join up with our closest Tea Party patriots and get involved. We have to give it our all.

The current fight for healthcare "change" is nothing more than a move to get more people dependent on the government. It has nothing in the world to do with caring about people's health, the cost of healthcare, etc. The purpose is to get rid of capitalism, get rid of competition and control more of our lives.

Do your part to try and stop it. The lines to the White House, to the individual congressional offices are tied up with calls. It's time to go visit your Congressman, send a letter, write to the local newspapers, do something different (but peaceful and respectfully).

The public option's renewed momentum is mostly the product of the raw ideological willfulness of the progressive left. Led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, they're not about to let a once-in-a-generation opportunity pass without a fight, and they view the public option as a down payment on single-payer health care. They're right to think so; a public option will quickly blow up the private insurance market.

To pay homage to Barack Obama, fare cards bearing his image shall be created and sold. I guess it is important that those who ride the metro in DC know who the new boss is. It is that plain and simple.

At this rate, I wonder how many public projects shall bear Barack Obama’s name in the next few years…

Metro hasn’t yet formally announced the sale of a special edition SmarTrip card commemorating the impending inauguration of President-Elect Barack Obama,
but this image was circulated at this morning’s regular Board of Directors meeting, along with details on their production schedule and cost.

Metro spokesperson Steven Taubenkibel confirmed that the commemorative SmarTrip cards should be available for sale in early January, while special paper Metro farecards marking the inauguration will be sold somewhat earlier, in late December.

There was some discussion at the board meeting about the cost and availability of the commemorative SmarTrip cards. Currently, Metro plans to sell them for $10 per card, with no value added to the card at the time of initial purchase, which would make them $5 more expensive than regular SmarTrip cards. They may also be hard to come by, as Metro will only have an initial order of 35,000 on hand to begin with, though Taubenkibel said the agency hopes to have more available as time permits. The short time period during which the cards have had to be ordered, produced, and eventually shipped to D.C. and processed was cited as the main reason for their higher price and small number.

“We’re going to have get them out really quickly in order for them to be sold,” Taubenkibel explained.

Mixed Signals on Missile Defense

President-elect Barack Obama is sending mixed signals on America’s planned missile defense sites in Europe following Russia’s heated rhetoric last week. An Obama adviser said this weekend America’s next commander in chief hadn’t decided if he would continue work on the U.S. missile shield. Although Obama is still months away from taking office, now is not the time to reverse course.

This is nothing new from Obama. Throughout the presidential campaign, he shifted his views on missile defense. For instance, a video he recorded for the Priorities Action Fund flatly stated, “I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems.” When asked about that statement by a TV reporter in August, Obama said he simply wanted to make sure missile defense actually worked:

I think it makes perfect sense to deploy a system that works. But we have to make sure that the technology works. And without having reviewed the technological capabilities of the system that’s being deployed in Poland, I’ve said that Congress should review it. But there is no doubt that after the Russian invasion of Georgia that NATO allies like Poland need to know that they are going to be protected if there is encroachment on their territory.

When he was pressed to say whether the investment is a good idea for the United States, Obama answered: “I think there’s no doubt we should make the investment. I think the capacity of Iran or North Korea to send a rouge missile is one that we have to take very, very seriously.”

The Bush administration this year signed agreements to put 10 interceptor missiles in Poland and a radar station in the Czech Republic. Now, in the wake of Russia’s threat to deploy short-range surface-to-surface missiles within reach of NATO allies, Obama is keeping quiet on his intentions for the missile shield in Europe. Following a call with Lech Kaczynski, the Polish president came away with the impression the U.S. would move forward with the plan . But later in the day, Obama foreign policy adviser Denis McDonough said, “His position is as it was throughout the campaign, that he supports deploying a missile defense system when the technology is proved to be workable.”

Obama’s insistence on a “system that works” is understandable. But he should know the system being tested by the Missile Defense Agency does work. It’s hard to dispute the near-perfect results since 2005. Secondly, punting missile defense to Congress shows a lack of leadership and sets up the program for failure. Ardent liberal opponents would no doubt attempt to strip the agency of funding.

The threat to missile defense is one of the reasons The Heritage Foundation will release a documentary early next year that tells the story of the danger hostile nations and rogue dictators now pose to the world. A trailer of the film, “33 Minutes: Protecting America in the New Missile Age,” is being released today. (Click here to watch.)

After inking the deal with Poland in August, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice summed up its importance: “Missile defense, of course, is aimed at no one. It is in our defense that we do this.” Obama would be wise to follow that logic and build on the success as president.

Mark my words, the Obamatypes are going to start reporting our blogs and the Obama loving owner will shut us down. It's coming. We better find another way to communicate because real, real soon we're going to lose the Internet in this country.

Take Down the Bird Feeder

The analogy is absolutely right on ... Maxine tells it like it is!

I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed. What a beauty of a bird feeder it is, as I filled it lovingly with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food.

But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue.

Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table... everywhere!

Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket.

And others birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food.

After a while, I couldn't even sit on my own back porch anymore.

So I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio.

Soon, the back yard was like it used to be.... quiet, serene and no one demanding their rights to a free meal.

Now let's see.

Our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, and free education and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen.

Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services; small apartments are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor.

Just my opinion, but maybe it's time for the government to take down the bird feeder.

Today, the McCain-Palin campaign launched the Honest and Open Election hotline to help citizens learn the location of their polling place, as well as report any instances of irregularities at the polls, including voter fraud, intimidation, violence and electioneering. The hotline can be accessed via phone at: 866-976-VOTE.

"With November 4th quickly approaching, our Honest and Open Election hotline will serve as an informative guide for all Americans participating in the electoral process," said McCain-Palin National Political Director Mike DuHaime. "The hotline will allow us to learn about and take steps toward remedying any voter irregularities at polling places across the country. While we are hopeful that Election Day will be free of any wrongdoing, allies of the Democrat Party, such as ACORN, have shown a willingness to commit fraud in both this election cycle and in 2004. Given the tightness of the polls, all examples of fraud must be addressed to preserve the integrity of the election."

In 2004, multiple forms of voter fraud occurred, including voter intimidation, fraudulent registrations, multiple ballots cast and votes bought for money. Already during the 2008 election cycle, a dead woman in Missouri cast an absentee ballot, individuals were arrested for voting twice in Florida and people in Ohio registered and voted on the same day.

Hollywoodification of Politics

I had one of those uh-duh moments this morning while making breakfast and listening to Fox News. I can't remember exactly what triggered it, or who was speaking, but someone said "Hollywood" and little light bulbs started pinging in my whittle ol' brain.

Obama's Hollywood friends and supporters are packaging him to be a star. Check out his swagger, Frank Sinatra. Check out the photos of him with the cigarette in his mouth, James Dean. Everything is scripted, right down to the clothes, the look, the mannerisms.

He is a movie star, not a presidential candidate.

People are swooning and following him just like they follow the American Idols, sports stars, movie stars, and others. They could give a flying flip what he says, they're voting for the package.

I know none of my thoughts are new and that if I did a search I'd find that this is old news, old well-worn thoughts I'm trampling on, but I've been so focused on supporting John McCain and Sarah Palin that I haven't put much thought into Barack Obama's "mystique".

Just like a Hollywood actor playing a role, we have no clue who he really is behind the words. Strip away the facade and look at the core and we find he's nothing but a salesman pitching false promises.

Who is behind all the rhetoric? What little I know tells me this country is in for big trouble if we end up with him as President.

I pray that America is not getting ready to toss the greatest Democracy away based on empty promises.

ACORN Commercial Paid for by YOU

ACORN is now spending $50,000 to air an ad attacking John McCain and the Republican Party. This from a group that is supposed to be "non-partisan". They are using OUR tax dollars to fund a political ad. How can they legally do this? Shouldn't all funding be pulled? Can you imagine what would happen if any agency receiving money from the government put out an ad attacking Democrats?

The commercial is clearly a rip and about as stupid an accusation as you can make. It might have flown 20 years ago, but only idiots believe the Republican Party is out there trying to suppress the black vote or the Hispanic vote. My gosh, the Party bends over backwards to try and attract black and Hispanics into the conservative fold.

The only votes that the Republican Party has tried to suppress are the illegal votes propagated by ACORN, Project Vote and similar groups that want to steal the election for Obama. It's not just Obama who's going to benefit from this one, it's the numerous House and Senate seats that are currently contested.

Get your friends and neighbors and go vote!!! Don't let the Democrats steal the election on Tuesday (if they haven't already). If the so-called "silent majority" gets out to vote on Tuesday we'll become a vocal majority and win.

He certainly thinks that anything he doesn't like to deal with is a distraction.

ACORN. Distraction.

Voter fraud. Distraction.

Birth Certificate questions. Distraction.

Blocked college records. Distraction.

He changes his views, he says he didn't say what he said, he adds a comment six months later to change the meaning of something he said in the past.

Voters, Fraud and Computers

I may be naive, but it seems to me that it should be fairly easy to figure out whether voters are legit or not. We have computers and they can do amazing feats when it comes to verifying information. A simple program should be able to run names and addresses against those in the telephone company's listing or the state's drivers licence listing or water bills or something!

I know there might be multiple voters in one household, so maybe bills or telephones aren't the best way to run a comparison.

It's not rocket science and it shouldn't be that costly if each voter registration office ran their own listings. Sure the program would have to be adapted to fit the unique parameters for each county or district, but that should be an easy task.

Brighter minds than mine have probably come up with other suggestions that are better than what I just suggested, and maybe brighter minds than mine can tell me why that idea might be off base.

Barack Obama is probably suffering from a serious conflict right now. He's running for President so unfortunately he's unable to serve as ACORN's attorney presently. He's helped them out in the past and I'm sure he's struggling with his conscious because he knows where he should be as they battle to continue perpetuating crimes.

Seriously, he's probably not struggling in that area but I would think he's concerned that the law is thwarting their efforts to help him win the election by hook or crook. When their office in Las Vegas was raided it shone another light on his connections with the group that is known for their criminal activities and their part in our current financial crisis.

Last night at a dinner meeting a group of us were talking politics, President Bush and the economy. All of us had high concerns regarding the future of our country.

One gentleman noted he had just gotten back from another business trip that took him around the world. He said it amazed him how it seemed everywhere he went that George W. Bush was blamed for everything bad that happened in the world.

He talked about the prevalence of his bad image and recounted a number of short stories to highlight how the President was vilified.

It struck me later as I thought back on the conversation how well the Democrats have done their job.

We all know that George W. Bush is not the person the press and the Left paint him to be. They have a hatred that has been stoked by those who steer the Democratic Party. The absolute disdain is so deep and personal it astounds me.

What the Democrats have done with their Demtactics is despicable. Not just to George W. Bush, but to the image of our country. They talk about repairing the image of the country in the world when they have been instrumental in causing the image.

The press is complicit.

I am beginning to believe there is a big, long-term plan in play and we who sit in our homes going about our daily lives are allowing it to happen.

If you think back through history when regime changes happened, when countries became communist or fell to dictators, the masses were ignorant. They got up in the morning, sent their kids off to school, went to work, cleaned house, went to church and lived their lives. In many cases they didn't vote or weren't involved in their country or community.

Today we have the television to act as an opiate. Many couldn't tell you who their elected officials were or what their local county commission did at the last meeting. They are more concerned about who wins on American Idol than they are about who could be the next President.

These past few weeks the Democrats have taken us ever closer toward being a socialist country. They pandered to the Republicans and they pandered to us, and they painted their pictures of the economy so we'd swallow it whole.

We are making some huge mistakes and the mistake is going to be compounded if we elect Barack Obama.

Last night one of those at dinner said they thought the Republicans were getting ready to be out of power for roughly ten years but then the country would see how horrible things were and we'd swing back to the Republicans. I commented that in ten years if the Democrats had the Presidency and Congress, there wouldn't be any Republicans and there wouldn't be a country as we know it now. Surprisingly, given the diversity of those at the table, everyone agreed. Scary that we see it coming and yet we seem to be so helpless to stop it.

I was going to stop there, but it struck me that maybe some might question why the Republicans might not see it or might not be reacting to stop it if my scenario is really happening. I think some are aware. I think some are simply power hungry. I think some are just like many of us, live for today, take care of today because the problems too big. I think that some aren't capable of seeing the problem because they're fine, decent people who can't believe there are cold, calculating people who'd toss them in the fire to further their own struggle for power. I think sometimes when you're in the middle of something you can't see the big picture.

I don't really know anything, I'm way too far down the totem pole to be able to do anything other than try and make sense of all the pieces.

I firmly believe we're in for bad times, and I'm not just talking about the financial picture. I think we have been steered like cattle to this moment and the slaughter house is right around the corner. I hope the American people will slow the stampede to the end down by voting for McCain-Palin but even if we do rise up out of our easy chairs to vote, I'm concerned ACORN and the stealing of votes will negate our impact on November 4th.

Well, now I'm thoroughly depressed and I'm sure if you've read this far that you might feel the same (either that or you think I'm off my rocker ;-)!

I'm going to go do something positive and stop thinking about the end of the world.

Family Told Obama NOT To Wear Soldier Son's Bracelet... Where is Media?

Barack Obama played the "me too" game during the Friday debates on September 26 after Senator John McCain mentioned that he was wearing a bracelet with the name of Cpl. Matthew Stanley, a resident of New Hampshire and a soldier that lost his life in Iraq in 2006. Obama said that he too had a bracelet. After fumbling and straining to remember the name, he revealed that his had the name of Sergeant Ryan David Jopek of Merrill, Wisconsin.

Shockingly, however, Madison resident Brian Jopek, the father of Ryan Jopek, the young soldier who tragically lost his life to a roadside bomb in 2006, recently said on a Wisconsin Public Radio show that his family had asked Barack Obama to stop wearing the bracelet with his son's name on it. As this financial fiasco is unfolding Obama is looking more and more like a selfish little child who doesn't understand how the adults work on the big issues.

His bully-boy friends are going on television trying to stand up for their leader but it is failing.

Americans want decisive action and they want someone who's willing to stand up for us and fight. We want a leader.

Obama looks like a politician. He looks scared when he's talking about this issue and I think it's because he knows he took the wrong tact on it. He couldn't get his ego out of the way long enough to realize he would have looked stronger to follow on this issue and get his butt to Washington without having to be summoned.

I heard one of his bully-boy supporters whining yesterday that John McCain really hadn't suspended his campaign because some commercials were still running and that mean old Sarah Palin was still campaigning. John McCain lied he said.

McCain pulled all of his ads that could be pulled and I understand there were two, yes two whole ads in the entire country, that couldn't be pulled.

All of a sudden Sarah Palin going to an event is something the Obama campaign wants to acknowledge? Now she matters when they think they need her to prove a point.

News flash, Sarah Palin isn't a Senator and she's not John McCain. John McCain suspended his campaign not her campaign. Yes, she's part of his campaign, but she had events and interviews scheduled and she is not an integral part (yet!) of what's going on in Washington.

Wouldn't that be something if Sarah Palin flew to Washington and sweet talked everyone into an agreement? I'd love to hear her talk about what should be done. I bet she'd have some common sense thoughts on this debacle.

McCain is back up in the polls because he has shown true leadership and has shown that the American people are truly more important than even his own personal campaigning. He's willing to put it all on the line for us and despite the image Obamatactites are trying to promote, the American people know he's being sincere and real.

Joe Biden in Cincinnati on Afghanistan

Fox News aired Joe Biden's speech this morning in Cincinnati. I listened to part of it and would have listened to all of it, but I do have to work!

I'll see if I can find a transcript to share, but I imagine you'll go to sleep long before finishing it! It was way to long for anyone but a die-hard political wonk, probably because he's not the most entertaining speaker when he's "contained"!

While I listened he was talking about Afghanistan. He slammed John McCain and talked about how we should have been focusing on Afghanistan, etc., etc. Same old, same old, packaged in some new wrapping paper I haven't heard before.

In the past few days I've heard and read some rumblings from former CIA and others about an "October surprise" by terrorists. Probably because that possibility has been slithering around my mind, it seemed to me that Biden was setting the table for just such an action.

I'm NOT saying he was encouraging it by any means. What I mean is he was setting the table for Barack Obama to be able to say "I told you so" if it happened. Something along the lines of, "If we'd listened to Obama's in his great wisdom we would have been focusing on Afghanistan and the true culprits rather than wandering in the Iraq wilderness."

I certainly hope and pray we don't experience another attack. If we are attacked, God forbid, then I hope the American people have the intelligence to put someone like John McCain in office to handle the future. In this political war there's enough on both sides of the aisle which makes it easy in hind-sight to point a finger of blame.

I'd guess that if we'd focused on Afghanistan then Iraq would be where they were holed up. I also believe if it were possible to ferret out all the terrorists we'd be doing it full speed. We're doing pretty darn good considering how the President has been hampered by Democrats who simply don't want him to win at anything.

Backtracking to the original thoughts that led me to write a blog, I had to wonder as I listened to Joe Biden whether he had access to some intelligence that indicated an attack was a strong probability. Call me paranoid, call me crazy, but the thought did keep surfacing as I took my break and listened to Biden.

I'm curious to see if John McCain is going to come out with some similar talking points.

JEM left a comment on my prior post and mentioned Obama's ego not being able to take having Hillary on the ticket. Great thought and probably right on the money. It struck me when thinking about it further that chances are Obama is scared to have her on the ticket, too. She would run circles around him and undermine him every chance she was given. He'd have an ulcer before he was officially sworn in! I've heard, and who knows how much of what we hear way down here on the outer rungs is accurate, that Obama's wife steams whenever she hears Hillary's name. Obama would be surrounded by strong women and his life would be miserable!!!

I find it funny on some level that so much of what Hillary said about Obama is TRUE! She put a lot of information out there and for whatever reason the Dems chose to follow Obama. It gives some credence to the theory that things are pre-ordained in the political arena by the movers and shakers behind the scene.

Our VP candidate has ten times the experience as their primary candidate!

It would shake things up if Obama got desperate enough to pull in Hillary and would say a lot about his strength (weakness) as a leader. I'd be all over him on his judgement! He had the opportunity to have Hillary on the ticket and he chose to ignore millions of votes for personal reasons and sensibilities, or maybe just because his wife was jealous of her pretty (gag) pant suits.

In the past many of our Presidents have chosen Vice Presidents they didn't like simply because it would help to get them elected. Either JEM is right and Obama has an ego that wouldn't allow him to give partial credit to someone else for his win or he is dumb. Or maybe both.

I rec'd the email below this morning. It's probably just one of those things that gets started with no basis in fact. A lot of times I've found that people speculate as if something were a fact just so they are able to say they knew it first if it ever happens. If it doesn't happen they can say their source was wrong (if anyone remembers they're the one who got it started).

I think there's a lot of Democrats who are hoping this one is at least partially true:

On or about October 5th, Biden will excuse himself from the ticket, citing health problems, and he will be replaced by Hillary. This is timed to
occur after the VP debate on 10/2.

There have been talks all weekend about how to proceed with this info.

Generally, the feeling is that we should all go ahead and get it out there to as many blog sites and personal email lists as is possible. I have already seen a few short blurbs about this - the 'health problem' cited in those articles was aneurysm.

Probably many of you have heard the same rumblings.

However, at this point, with this inside info from the DNC, it looks like this Obama strategy will be a go.

Therefore, it seems that the best strategy is to get out in front of this Obama maneuver, spell it out in detail, and thereby expose it for the grand manipulation that it is.

So, let's start mixing this one up and cut the Obamites off at the pass - send.

An aneurysm? That sounds rather dire to me and rather hard to predict or fake. I don't have time today to go out and read around about this and it does sound like another off-beat conspiracy theory type thing, which probably has some of you wondering why in the world I'm even putting it out here for discussion!
